The Roofing Warranty Certificate serves as a crucial document for homeowners who have recently installed a new roof through MCS Roofing. This certificate outlines essential information, including the warranty issue date, the homeowner's name, and the project address, ensuring clarity and accountability. One of the primary benefits of this warranty is the lifetime craftsmanship coverage, which guarantees that the roof will remain free from leaks due to substandard installation for a period of 50 years from the warranty issue date. Additionally, the warranty is transferable, allowing future homeowners to benefit from the coverage, provided that the transfer is properly documented in writing. However, certain terms and conditions apply. For instance, the warranty takes effect only after full payment for materials and labor has been made, and it does not cover damages arising from defective materials or improper construction of the dwelling. Homeowners must promptly report any issues to MCS Roofing to ensure the warranty remains valid. Furthermore, regular cleaning of the roof every two years is required, with specific stipulations regarding who can perform this service. Exclusions from the warranty include damages caused by natural disasters, structural movement, and unauthorized alterations to the roof. Overall, the Roofing Warranty Certificate is designed to protect both the homeowner and the roofing company, establishing clear expectations and responsibilities for maintaining the integrity of the roof over time.

Common mistakes

  1. Incomplete Information: Failing to fill in all required fields, such as the warranty issue date or the homeowner's name, can render the warranty invalid.

  2. Incorrect Project Address: Listing the wrong project address may lead to complications when trying to claim the warranty.

  3. Missing Signature: Not signing the form, or having the wrong party sign, can void the warranty.

  4. Failure to Notify: Homeowners must promptly inform MCS Roofing of any issues. Delays can result in the warranty becoming null and void.

  5. Ignoring Cleaning Requirements: Not adhering to the two-year cleaning schedule can jeopardize the warranty. Homeowners should ensure that MCS Roofing performs this service.

  6. Overlooking Exclusions: Not being aware of the exclusions, such as natural disasters or structural movement, can lead to misunderstandings about what the warranty covers.

  7. Assuming Transferability: Homeowners should not assume the warranty is automatically transferable. A written request is necessary for the transfer to be valid.

  8. Misunderstanding Repair Costs: Homeowners may not realize that repairs not related to workmanship will incur charges, which must be paid promptly to keep the warranty active.

  9. Neglecting to Read the Terms: Failing to read and understand the warranty terms can lead to unintentional violations, resulting in loss of coverage.

More About Roofing Warranty Certificate

What is the Roofing Warranty Certificate?

The Roofing Warranty Certificate is a document provided by MCS Roofing that guarantees the workmanship of your roof installation. It ensures that the roof will be free from leaks caused by substandard installation for the life of the roof, which is typically a 50-year period from the date the warranty is issued. This certificate serves as proof of your warranty coverage and outlines the specific terms and conditions associated with it.

What benefits does the warranty offer?

The warranty offers several key benefits. First, it includes lifetime craftsmanship coverage, ensuring that any leaks caused by poor installation will be addressed at no cost to you for the life of the roof. Additionally, the warranty is fully transferable, meaning that if you sell your home, the new homeowner can benefit from the same coverage, provided they request the transfer in writing.

Are there any conditions for the warranty to be valid?

Yes, there are specific conditions that must be met for the warranty to be valid. The warranty takes effect only after the roof installation is completed and all materials and labor have been paid in full. Furthermore, the homeowner must promptly notify MCS Roofing of any issues that arise. Failure to do so can result in the warranty being voided.

What happens if there is a problem with the roof?

If a problem occurs and it is due to workmanship, MCS Roofing will rectify the situation at no charge for the duration of the warranty. However, if repairs are needed for reasons unrelated to workmanship, reasonable charges will apply. It’s important to address any issues quickly to maintain your warranty coverage.

How often does the roof need to be cleaned?

The roof must be cleaned every two years to keep the warranty in effect. If MCS Roofing determines that the roof is clean enough, this period may be extended. Cleaning must be performed by MCS Roofing, and fees for this service will be additional and due upon completion of the cleaning.

What types of damage are excluded from the warranty?

The warranty does not cover damage from natural disasters such as fire, floods, or earthquakes. It also excludes issues arising from structural movement, alterations made to the roof, or tampering. This means that if the roof is damaged due to these factors, the warranty will not apply.

Can I transfer the warranty to a new homeowner?
